Nest project
The geographic location, the strong natural component and the spectacular full horizon view prompted us to imagine structures that recalled forms and “natural architecture,” perfectly embedded in the local context and able to fully meet the needs of the client, who required a convivial space completely immersed in nature. From these analyses, the idea of “Nest” was born. A lightweight aluminum architecture covered with a natural wood shell to recreate the look and shape of a “bird’s nest” and supported by a cantilevered structure that almost seems to “take flight”
The choice of the Varia system fits perfectly within the design requirements by combining the Open system, which can offer perfect protection of the space from the sun and any rain, with Run technology capable of completely packing the blades, freeing up the covered space and offering a striking view to the sky. The support structure is made of steel and anchored to the ground by a mixed foundation, and the elevated structure and roof are made of aluminum. The outer covering and platform are made of bamboo slats with different cross sections
